Standard Applications:

a) (Named Dancers) Trade: Boys / Girls / Same Sexes Trade

— i) Parallel Waves (Right or Left Handed), “0”, “1/2”, “3”, “4” (Same sex in center or together)
Comment: The most common use is Boys Trade or Girls Trade from a “0” or “1/2” wave and is equal to Centers Trade .

— ii) Parallel Waves (Right or Left Handed), “1”, “2” (Girls or Boys facing out & those dancers active)
Comment: The active dancers may need time to look before moving so it is helpful to use the follow-up move Lines Go Up and Back.

— iii) Parallel Two-Faced Lines (Right or Left Handed), “0”, “1/2” (Normal or Half-Sashayed Couples)

— iv) Right-Hand or Left-Hand Columns, “3”, “4” (4 of same sex in center)
Comment for iii and iv: For the listed arrangements the action is equal to Centers/Ends Trade.

— v) Tidal Wave (Right or Left Handed), All Arrangements
Comment: The call should be directed to Each Four or to the Center Four.

— vi) 1/4 Tag or 3/4 Tag (Right or Left Handed), Mixed sexes in center wave
Comment: The call is directed to Boys or Girls in the center Wave.

a continued) (Named Dancers) Trade: Centers / Ends Trade
— i) Parallel Waves (Right or Left Handed), All Arrangements

— ii) Parallel Two-Faced Lines (Right or Left Handed), All Arrangements
Comment for i and ii: Centers Trade is used much more frequently than Ends Trade.

— iii) Right-Hand or Left-Hand Columns, All Arrangements
Comment: Sufficient space may be an issue for Centers Trade.

— iv) Lines Facing Out, Ends or Centers are a Normal Couple
Comment: Infrequently called and safest when the traders are a Normal Couple.

— v) 1/4 Tag or 3/4 Tag (Right or Left Handed), All Arrangements
Comment: The call is directed to Centers / Ends of the center wave.

d) Everyone Trade
— i) Right-Hand or Left-Hand Columns, All Arrangements
Comment: Using the term Everyone avoids the question of partners in columns.
