Formation: Circle of couples all facing in, lady on gent’s right.
Music should have a 64-beat verse in clear 8-beat phrasing with a good heel and toe section. Examples are “Lay Some Happiness On Me” on Grenn 12180 or “I Don’t Love Medley” on Sound of New England CD (I Don’t Love Nobody, Little Old Log Cabin in the Lane, Honey Harbor Two-Step)

Description:
1-8 With all hands joined, starting with man’s left foot and lady’s right foot, everyone walks four steps toward the center of the hall, and then backs away four steps.

9-16 Dancers repeat beats 1-8 ending with the man and the lady turning 1/4 to face each other. All the ladies will be facing clockwise around the hall and the men will be facing counterclockwise.

7-24 Beginning with man’s left foot and lady’s right foot dancers touch their heel to the floor and then their toe to the floor, and then slide two steps (side, close, side) towards the center of the hall. Repeat this using the other foot for the heel and toe and sliding two steps towards the wall.

25-32 Repeat 17-24.

33-40 Each person steps to their left to walk single file around the circle. Men moving counterclockwise in the inside circle and ladies moving clockwise in the outside circle.

41-48 Dancers U-Turn Back to move in the other direction (men clockwise and ladies counterclockwise) until they reach their partner.

49-56 Partners meet with a Left Arm Turn once around and proceed to the new corner.

57-64 Corners Swing ending with the lady on the man’s right side and both dancers facing the center of the hall as new partners.

WHO’S ON FIRST?
This old square dance figure was popular about 1985.
It is a take off on an Abbott and Costello routine about baseball first performed about 1936. Look for it on YouTube.

Who’s on First action: The dancers on first (couple #1) walk across the set into the #3 position and individually U-Turn Back. As they squeeze in between the #3 couple all the rest of the dancers slide one position (1/8th) to the right or left into a new squared set position.

Who’s on Third … #3 Cross the set and U-Turn back, others adjust
Who’s on Fourth … #4 Cross the set and U-Turn back, others adjust

Any six consecutive numbers will result in the set being back in order in a Static Square.
Everyone is across the set from home.

Any three consecutive numbers will result in a setup with everyone in a half sashayed position and beside their original opposite. One Get-Out from here is “All eight Circle Left, Rollaway, Allemande Left, Promenade”
