Background: Step and Slide was created by Ed Fraidenburg from Midland, Michigan in 1967. It is in the CALLERLAB Advanced List for 1977 and was listed as A-1 about 1980.

Definition

Starting formations: From a General Line

Dance action: Centers step forward, while the ends slide sideways until they are adjacent.

Ending formations:
— A One-Faced Line ends in a Tandem Box.
— An Inverted Line ends in a Back-to-Back Box.
— When the Centers are facing in opposite directions, it ends in a Z.
