Background: Split Square Thru was created in 1960 by Clarence Watson from Blue Springs Missouri. Square Chain Thru was created in 1965 by Buford Evans from Prairie Village, Kansas. Split Square Chain Thru (author unknown) was added to Burleson’s Encyclopedia about 1969. It was added to the A-2 Program in 1985 and moved to the A-1 Program in September 2012.

Definition

Starting formations: Static Square or T-Bone

Dance action: (From a Static Square, those designated step forward, to form two side-by-side T-bones.): Those facing Right Pull By, Quarter In (to face those who didn’t pull by) and all Left Swing, and Left Turn Thru.

Ending formations: Back-to-Back Couples
