Call Analysis

Reverse Rollaway: The Beau rolls across in front of the Belle

Reverse Half Sashay: The Beau slides across in front of the Belle

Reverse Wheel Around: The couple, working as a unit, turns around to the right (180 degrees). The right-side dancer backs up while the left-side dancer moves forward. The pivot point is the handhold between the two dancers.

Reverse Courtesy Turn: A couple works as a unit and turns around with the right-side dancer backing up and left-side dancer walking forward. The turning point is halfway between the dancers.

Reverse Flutterwheel: The left-side dancers leave their current partner, Left Arm Turn with each other a full turn, each ending where they started. Halfway through this motion they take a couple handhold with the other dancer and the second half of the Arm Turn is completed with each new couple working as a unit.

Reverse Dixie Style to an Ocean Wave: From Facing Couples: do half of a Reverse Half Sashay (that is, dancers slide inward until they form a Tandem, with the original left-hand dancer in front) and Centers Left Pull By; all Right Touch a Quarter.

Reverse Circle to a Line: Each group of Facing Couples Circle Right 1/2 (180 degrees). The right-side dancer in the new outside couple releases the right handhold and slides sideways to the right to become the right end of a One-faced Line (which faces the Line formed by the other four dancers). All other handholds are maintained. The other dancers continue circling, gradually blending into the One-Faced Line by unwinding the circle. The final dancer replaces the unwinding action with a forward and right-turning twirl, walking under an arch made with the adjacent dancer.

Reverse Single Circle to a Wave: Facing dancers join both hands with each other and Circle Right halfway. Without stopping, they drop hands with each other and individually Veer Right, blending into a Left-hand Mini-Wave.

Reverse Swap Around: From Facing Couples, the Beaus walk (as in Walk and Dodge) while the Belles run to the left.

Reverse Recycle (from Facing Couples) (A2): The Belles step forward until they are side-by-side, while doing a U-Turn Back, turning toward each other. Meanwhile, the Beaus Veer Right and join left hands with the original Belles. Ends in a Left-Hand Wave.

ARC Rulings (Applications Review Committee of CALLERLAB):

Reverse Concept
(September/October 2004)
Q: At which program do we expect the dancers to know the “Reverse” concept (i.e., Reverse Rollaway, Reverse Half Sashay, Reverse Do Paso, Reverse Circle To A Line, In Reverse Order Right and Left Thru)?
A: This usage would not be expected until beyond the Plus Program however, some of them can be used at MS and Plus IF THE CALLER IS VERY CAREFUL TO NOT OVER USE THE CONCEPT!

Recycle
(May 2012)
Q: The formation is Facing Couples. At Advanced is it proper to call: “Reverse Recycle.”?
A: Yes, this is proper in accordance with the Reverse Concept in the Advanced program.
