Background: The author of Fractional Tops is unknown. It is listed as number 415 in Burleson’s Encyclopedia among other calls from before 1965. It was in the CALLERLAB Advanced List for 1977 and it was listed as A-1 about 1980.

Definition

Starting formations: From a Thar or Wrong-Way Thar

Dance action: All Arm Turn 1/2, then the centers turn their star, as the outsides move forward around their circle, and for
    ▪ Quarter Top end upon meeting the first dancer.
    ▪ Half a Top end upon meeting the second dancer.
    ▪ Three-Quarter Top end upon meeting the third dancer.

Ending formations: a Thar or a Wrong-Way Thar

Timing:
    ▪ Quarter Top – 4,
    ▪ Half a Top – 6,
    ▪ Three-Quarter Top – 8

Comments: The Facing Couples Rule applies to All 8 Spin the Top. The Fractional Tops are variations of All 8 Spin the Top, so the Facing Couples Rule also applies here.
