Recently taught calls: Belles and Beaus is the first call in the A-1 Program Suggested Teaching Order.

Background: The Beau and Belle Concept was listed in Burleson’s Encyclopedia in 1984. It was originally listed in the A-2 Program about 1982 and it was moved to the A-1 Program by 2005.

Definition:

This is a way to name dancers

Dancers whose partners are on their left are Belles, and dancers whose partners are on their right are Beaus. In particular, for a Couple, the dancer on the right is the “Belle”, and the dancer on the left is the “Beau”.
