Standard Applications:
a) Scoot and Dodge
— i) Right-Hand Parallel Waves, “1” or “2” (All 4 Girls facing out, or all 4 Boys facing out)
Comment: This is the commonly used application for Scoot Back and is most successful if the dancers are focused on their Box. Other Arrangements might also be successful.
— ii) Left-Hand Parallel Waves, All Arrangements, but call directed only to the Centers
Comments:
— This is much less common but usually safe if the call is clearly directed to the Centers.
— If the same Gender is in the middle, then the call may be directed to Boys or Girls as appropriate.
— This will end in a Three-and-One Line so consider the options for the next call.
— iii) Right-Hand Parallel Two-Faced Lines, All Arrangements, but call directed only to the Centers
Comments:
— This is much less common but usually safe if the call is clearly directed to the Centers.
— If the same gender is in the middle, then the call may be directed to Boys or Girls as appropriate.
— This will end in a Three-and-One Line so consider the options for the next call.
— iv) Facing Couples, Normal or Half-Sashayed Couples
Comment: These applications allows easy identification of those Scooting and those Dodging.
