Standard Applications:

Square Thru (1, 2, 3, 4) / Left Square Thru (1, 2, 3, 4)

a) Square Thru
–i) Static Square, Normal Couples
Comment: The call is most often directed to Heads or Sides

— ii) Inverted Square (Two couples facing out), Normal Couples facing
Comment: The call is directed to those couples facing in.

— iii) Facing Lines, “0” (Normal Couples)
— iv) Eight Chain Thru, “0” (Normal Couples)

— v) Double Pass Thru or Trade By, Any Arrangement with Normal Couples in the center.
Comment: The call is directed to the Centers only.

— vi) Other formations with two couples facing, Normal Couples facing
The call is directed to the facing normal couples.

b. Left Square Thru
Comment: Left Square Thru is rarely called so no usage is truly standard. However, if the dancers are reminded that the only change is to begin with the left hand, then the two usages listed should be reasonably successful.

— i) Static Square (Call directed to Heads or Sides), Normal Couples

— ii) Eight Chain Thru, “0” (Normal Couples
